IT Employment Reaches All-time High in June Striking Sharp Contrast with General Employment Market
Alexandria, VA, July 7, 2008 While the overall employment market continued to deteriorate, IT employment reached an all-time high in June, according to the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses, which tracks monthly IT employment.
The association reported IT employment reached 3,907,800 in June, a record high. While the June gain was modest (1,700), May's figure was revised upward reflecting a very strong gain of nearly 43,000 IT jobs---an impressive monthly increase of over one percent. So far this year, IT has grown by almost 90,000 jobs compared to the overall employment market that has lost 438,000 jobs. More information.....

IT Services Firms Post Double Digit Revenue Growth Third Consecutive Year; Margin Pressure Continues Unabated
After growing revenue 13.1% in 2005 and 11.8% in 2006, the typical (median) IT Services firm repeated its strong double-digit performance—posting revenue growth of 11.2%. While the typical firm saw strong revenue growth, the top quartile did even better—increasing 14.5%. These results are among the industry metrics reported in the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses 2008 Operating Practices Report just released—the industry’s largest and most comprehensive benchmarking survey.
